Nyad
Standard Size Category: Average 5’8”
Nyads are graceful and fluid people as their environment has affected their way of thinking and living. Nyads have learned to stay tidy and move without disturbing what's around them to create as little disturbance as possible in their watery homes. They tend to lean towards either a relaxed lifestyle, enjoying the abundance of what's around them, or a fast-paced and ambitious lifestyle for those that want to take advantage of their unique place. They’re more common around oceanside cities and can be invaluable in certain jobs due to their water affinity. They easily latch onto the culture of those around them, as their own culture is still rather young. Generally their culture is influenced by the many people they interact and trade with along the ocean. Nyad skin tones can be shades of blue, brown, or green, with faint lined or scaled patterns down the middle of their bodies and limbs. Their feet are fully webbed, and their hands are webbed halfway up the fingers. The edges of their ears have fins or webbing, which come to a point at the top. They have a dorsal fin down their back that they can easily fold down to get out of the way. Some Nyads have fins coming off the backs of their forearms and calves. Their teeth come to a point, and they have slitted eyes and gills under their ears. Different Nyads can have different colored accents on their webbing or patterns. One can tell geographically where a Nyad was born by its skin tone: Darker colors are from the deeper ocean or ocean shelfs, lighter colors are from the shallows, brighter colors are from reefs, and brown-toned Nyads are from rivers. River Nyads also have a more streamlined body and features.
